Massage Therapy Surrey

Massage Therapy

Registered Massage Therapists are medical professionals trained to evaluate and treat a variety of injuries using a range of established clinical methods. The goals are to reduce joint pain and tenderness, increase flexibility, mobility, function, and range of motion, relieve pain from a particular condition, an injury, or sore muscles, improve quality of life, and encourage overall wellness.

For massage therapy, a physician referral is not necessary.

What to Anticipate

Expect a thorough intake and interview to fully understand your medical history and the reason for your appointment. The RMT will then perform an informed, clinical evaluation of what is causing your pain and discomfort, followed by the development of a treatment strategy and an expectation of the outcomes. There may be information in your treatment plan about how to resume your favourite hobbies and physical activities. We offer treatment sessions that last 30, 45, and 60 minutes.

You can also view the Registered Massage Therapists Association of British Columbia’s “What to expect from your first visit” video at https://www.rmtbc.ca/rmt-and-you/firstvisit for more details on what to anticipate from the massage itself.
